On May 22, together with the Varna Tourist Chamber, the Business Agency organized an online meeting to discuss funding opportunities for digitization solutions for the tourism and restaurant industry. The aim was to present the services and products provided by Varna digital companies to the participants from traditional local industries. 52 people from different industries participated.
Silvia Stumpf described the financing situation of digitization in the hospitality industry and the constraints related to OPIC and public funds. Possible solutions with a budget of up to BGN 10,000 were presented by Professor Stanislav Ivanov (VUM) and Associate Professor Ivan Kuyumdzhiev from the Center for Digital Solutions at (IU). Good practices as a basis for planning a proposal to OPIC for a scheme to finance digitalization solutions in industry based on the visits of BAA experts to France and Spain (Laval and San Sebastian) were discussed with Silvia Stumpf. The meeting ended with a detailed description of the possible areas and applicability of solutions from Varna companies by Todor Dobrev, from the Board of ICT Cluster Varna. A summary was discussed for inclusion in the DEVISE Project Action Plan and for the search for funding opportunities for digitization solutions in industry.
