Slovenia hosted the third international thematic seminar on home care

More than 100 participants attended a two-day international HoCare Thematic Seminar, held in Ljubljana and Liithia (Slovenia) between 7 and 8 June 2017, organized by the Center for the Development of the Heart of Slovenia. The focus of the seminar was on the faster deployment of innovative home-based solutions using a quadrilateral approach. In addition to the project partners and stakeholders from Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Lithuania, Portugal and Romania, many of the Slovenian actors in the area of ​​innovative home care solutions attended the event.

During the seminars the following topics were discussed:
The workshop in Slovenia was the third consecutive HoCare thematic seminar that focuses on a specific theme. The first and second thematic seminar took place in Madeira and Budapest. More than 260 participants from businesses, research institutions, government bodies and end users attended the three thematic seminars. Within HoCare, partners from eight of the above-mentioned European countries are cooperating to develop recommendations and action plans to create innovative solutions and services in the field of home service.
As a good practice in Slovenia, a new E-Care service was presented at the thematic seminar of Telekom Slovenije, a provider of communication services in Slovenia. Peter Pourostynik and Suzana Leben of Telekom Slovenije have explained that e-care is a modular solution that effectively supports the quality of life of elderly people, people with disabilities, chronic illness and dementia for a more independent stay at home. The service helps prevent premature abandonment of institutional care.

Presentation of Electronic Care Representatives of national public authorities and institutions attended the Telekom Slovenije event in Ljubljana on the first day and took part in the Slovenian home care discussion: Andrea Chrank Meglitz of the Slovenian Prime Minister's Office Tatiana Buzeti of the Ministry of Health Davor Domkunk from the Ministry Labor, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, Marian Suchei of Slovenia's Health Insurance Institute and Dominika Orosi of the University Medical Center Ljubljana. On the second day, the event took place in Lithia, moderated by Lady Year Koshir and Igor Cosher. Director of the Center for the Development of the Heart of Slovenia Alexandra Gradicek and mayor of the Lithia municipality Frances Rocavek welcomed the participants in the Šmelc Integeneration Center. Vesna Dolnicova from the Faculty of Social Sciences, Peter Putstatnik from Telekom Slovenije, Vida Lukac from the Home for Elderly People Tisje and Simon Renner of the Orelli Institute participated in the discussion on accessibility to quality home care services.
