"We propose a new, community-oriented approach to development, emphasizing that sustainable living cannot be achieved through technological solutions alone. Instead, we propose that the process begin, be # nbsp; adapted and guided by people and their needs, for ensuring social sustainability, adequacy and effectiveness of new solutions in the long run. In this light, the article analyzes three dimensions of smart life - energy, mobility, waste - through the prism of urban-rural links and the role of ICT. "
